Phantom Target and Proactive

The Phantom Target is an entry level tracking system utilising state of the art Global Positioning technology (GPS). With it Phantom Target offers motorists quick and accurate location finding of your vehicle that has gone missing without authorisation. Phantom Target can even track your vehicle across mainland Europe, with no extra cost, should the need arise.

The Phantom Proactive works in conjunction with your existing alarm system or with the aid of a high tech, low power motion sensor. If your vehicle is moved or broken into the alarm or motion sensor kicks into action and triggers the Phantom Proactive. The device then alerts either you or a 24hr Phantom Call Centre. Whilst you are quickly checking whether your vehicle is unharmed a small unit is busy using state of the art Global Positioning Satellite information the Phantom Proactive can enable the Police to pinpoint the vehicles location should it be stolen.

RAC Trackstar

RAC Trackstar Plus has also been approved to Thatcham Q standard, which may enable you to secure an insurance discount if your car is fitted with RAC Trackstar Plus. In all this makes it one of the most affordable and comprehensive GPS vehicle tracker systems available. How it works for you! Using highly sensitive motion sensors, the 24 hour RAC Trackstar control centre automatically notifies the owner if the vehicle has been moved illegally.

With GPS technology, the control centre monitors the movement of the vehicle, tracking the location, speed and direction and then continuously updates the police on its position. The vehicle is then guarded until it is collected and returned to your home, free of charge by the RAC. RAC Trackstar calculates that using its system, average recovery time of a stolen vehicle is 59 minutes, compared to 4.5 hours published by another leading vehicle tracker company. RAC Trackstar Plus can be transferred to another car, and with a 12 or 24 volt battery option it can also be fitted onto trucks, caravans, plant and construction vehicles.

Thatcham Q class

A new Thatcham Quality Accreditation scheme will replace Q class as of January 2007. Designed to offer a more robust programme of product endorsement, the new scheme will provide suppliers and customers alike with a greater degree of confidence in product performance.

The Thatcham Quality Accreditation scheme has been designed to provide a more robust and consumer identifiable product to the automotive industry. Established during the first quarter of 2006, this scheme will ultimately replace the current Thatcham Q Class listing as of January 2007. All participants with Q listed products have been informed regarding the impending change and should now be on the road towards transferring to this initiative.

Thatcham Quality Accreditation is a more robust program of endorsement concentrating on building quality into the manufacture of a product as well as the design. The product will be rigorously tested to a predefined criteria established by Thatcham’s Vehicle Security and Quality functions. This testing, supported by Quality system and process assessments of the manufacturing facility and service provision, will ensure that the product is both designed and manufactured to exacting standards, providing the service the product has been produced to deliver.
